I'm coming back to learning how to make music after a huge break that I had to take due to a difficult period in life. It's been 8 months since I last touched anything music-related. Gotta admit - it's tough, I forgot almost everything, and I feel a bit ashamed. But I have a strong urge to come back - living without creating is difficult. Just a small win I wanted to share, as I'm sure it's relatable to others!

After grinding on the Symbiote challenge track, and then hard stopping to see family over the holidays, I admit that I was nervous of losing the momentum I've been rolling with since starting the program. Luckily I've built systems/routines that keep me on track, even if motivation isn't enough to pull me out of any slump or slow start after coming back from the holidays. 

Happy to report that my worries were quelled than...

...so I'm doing that now. I finished and submitted a track for Symbiote about a week ago. I feel that recording myself working was a very fruitful experience, as it gave me the opportunity to hear and share my own thought process as I create. I'll definitely do more of that in the future. I also learned that I'm capable of putting together a decent-sounding rough draft for a 2-minute piece in just over 2 hours! It would be a miracle if my piece wins the contest (I started on it pretty late in...

After a bit of ups and downs in my schedule and free time, I finally have finished, and bring to you my 30 sketches, some of them aren't as good as they could be, but I'm certain there's at least a couple I can work with! And regardless, even if they aren't the greatest things, still had a decent amount of fun making them all! (15 is my favorite!)
